Trip Report by Nina Shoroplova Five intrepid tree enthusiasts joined Nina Shoroplova on a Nature Vancouver tree-identification walk in Grand Boulevard, North Vancouver, on December 1, 2023, despite the temperature (3 degrees C) and precipitation (enough for umbrellas to be up the whole time). Grand Boulevard is one of Canada’s Historic Places, with the oldest of the planted trees—both native and imported—being no older than 117 years of age. And some are a whole lot younger. Trip Report by Naomi Ross Sunday, November 13, was a brisk sunny day, which was a real treat having had rain the preceding few days. November 2023 Work Parties Despite weather forecasts of continuous rain for the weekend of November 4th and 5th we had excellent New Brighton work parties under a mixture of glorious sun and some cloud and no rain for both work days. This means we have had 71 New Brighton work parties, most through the winter months without any significant precipitation. This year’s Summer Camp was a drive-in camp to Manning Park. Two one-week-long camps were held from July 28 to Aug 4, and Aug 4 to Aug 11, 2024. Location: Lone Duck 1 Group Camp Ground, E.C.
