Birding Walk in Maplewood Flats – North Vancouver
Leona Axbey and Maureen Collier will co-lead a walk in this area that will include tidal flats, marshes, meadows and forested areas. We enjoyed a previous walk here last fall. The walk will start at 9 am and last approximately 2 hours. This is an easy walk on mostly level ground. There is an option to bring your lunch and eat together outdoors, weather permitting. Various ducks, waterbirds, and migrants are seen here regularly, as well as some local characters such as otters and mink. Check out the latest sightings on ebird.https://ebird.org/hotspot/L164543?yr=all&m=&rank=mrec
Pre-registration is required and the trip is limited to 14 participants, including the trip co-leaders. Email Leona Axbey to register: rovintiger@gmail.com
Nature Vancouver members will be given priority. Registration should be requested no later than Thursday, April 20 for this trip. Please read our latest covid statement at: https://naturevancouver.ca/field-trips/covid-19-protocol-for-field-trips/
