Jericho Beach Forest Tree Walk
Jericho Beach Forest Tree Walk
This is a walk around the small forest located at Jericho Beach. Join Ryan Regier and Laura Cottle as we explore the fascinating non-native trees and plants (e.g Sycamore Maples, Black Cherries) that have established in this park as well as the native ones (Douglas Fir, Red Alders). The focus will be on tree identification and ecology but hopefully we get some birders to come along because Jericho is a great place for bird watching! If we are lucky, we may see the resident family of owls. It’s a small forest with little to no elevation and the walk will likely be about two hours. This hike is classified as A2.
The maximum number of participants is 15, all participants are expected to be fully vaccinated, and this trip will follow Nature Vancouver’s COVID safety protocols. Contact Laura to register and for more information. Details of where to meet will be emailed to registered participants a few days prior to the event.
