Hike in Cypress Provincial Park
Join Anne Leathem and Marshall Bauman for a hike in Cypress Provincial Park (CPP) organized by the Friends of CPP to visit the Hollyburn Giant, a huge yellow cedar 3.2 m (10.5′) diameter with a broken top. The hike climbs up through old forest on a rough trail with roots, rocks, and some logs to clamber over. We’ll have our lunch at the Hollyburn Giant then hike further up to reach a downhill ski run for an easy walk back down. Hiking poles are recommended. The hike is rated C4 with an elevation gain of approximately 240 m, distance 2 1/2 km, slow to moderate pace. We’ll look for pikas on the way down. Pre-registration is required.
