Pacific Yews are one of the strangest and rarest trees in Vancouver Forests. It is a deadly tree, used for poisons and weapons for centuries, but also a source of life, being one of the only conifers with berry-like fruits and also the source of a potent anti-cancer drug. The Yew is hard to distinguish from our native Hemlock and Douglas-fir and almost impossible to find in Pacific Spirit Park. Come learn how to identify Yews and some fascinating facts about this one-of-a-kind tree.

We will be meeting at the Chancellor Blvd Trailhead at 6:00pm on Wednesday July 2nd. The walk will go for about 2 hours – 6:00pm – 8:00pm.  Google Maps location – https://goo.gl/maps/LKHC8xLJZjaKEszk8
