Tsawwassen Shores Eelgrass Exploration (Difficulty A-3)
Tsawwassen Shores Eelgrass Exploration (Difficulty A-3) – The beach area on the south side of the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal causeway contains extensive eelgrass beds, which form excellent habitat for a variety of marine creatures. There is a good low tide on June 16, which should allow a rewarding search. Dress for the weather – hat & sunscreen, jacket, possibly rain gear, & rubber boots or footwear with a sturdy sole that can get wet & muddy. Bring water & a snack or lunch. To access the site, follow Hwy 17 towards the ferry terminal. Turn left at Tsawwassen Drive South (last set of traffic lights before the ferry terminal causeway). Follow the road adjacent to the causeway to dirt parking areas alongside the roadway. There are no facilities at this site. Trip leader -phone: 778-991-3525 or email: Sheila Byers
