New Brighton Work Party – Watering
With the hot summertime temperatures, watering is taking on progressively more importance at New Brighton. The water cistern continues to be filled courtesy of the Vancouver Park Board so with a good turnout we hope to water as many of the native perennial flowers and shrubs as possible. We will empty the cistern for sure and should we have extra volunteers we will continue looking for individual transplants to clip around them for future watering.
The hillock is looking great overall with transplants from multiple years expanding and spreading to create that pollinator meadow. Similarly most of the shrubs are doing well and spreading out to enhance the bird habitat.
If you are free, please come and help. It will be hot but your contribution will make a huge difference.
Please RSVP nigel@naturevancouver.ca so we can make sure there is enough ice cold lemon water, treats and tools.
