Nature Vancouver Sketch Group: January Meetup
Join us for our next Nature Sketchbook get-together at VanDusen Garden! Our group has been given permission to use the Joseph Wosk Library at the VanDusen Garden Visitor Centre to meet in and sketch for the next 3 sessions. People are welcome to go into the garden with a VanDusen membership or by purchasing a regular admission ticket.
VanDusen Botanical Garden is a 55-acre park with over 7,500 plant species from around the world and hosts a variety of local wildlife. For those who do not want to venture into the garden, the surrounding public green spaces offer much to draw from, including a covered display of fresh plants currently blooming in the garden. The library is a comfortable space with tables, chairs and windows for natural light. The library’s book collection focuses on gardening in British Columbia and the Pacific Northwest and covers a wide range of topics including botanical art and illustration, native floras from around the world, North American ethnobotany, butterfly gardening, native plant gardening, plant conservation and much more. All great sources of inspiration and discussion!
Everyone is welcome to this casual sketching session. Bring a notepad or sketchbook; a pencil or pen; any other favorite, portable art materials if you have them; and any natural treasures you have collected that you wish to sketch. Dress for the weather if you plan to venture outside. Bring a snack and water bottle.
To preregister please contact caroline@naturevancouver.ca. Limit 10 participants. Priority to Nature Vancouver members. Please read NV Covid policy.
