Mushrooms & Mosses botanical hike – Cypress Falls park.  Difficulty level B3
Join Anne Leathem and Teresa Gagné for a moderate walk in the park. Wear appropriate footwear for possible muddy patches in this West Vancouver municipal park with impressive waterfalls. Elevation gain 130 metres, expected time 2+ hours. Here in the wet Northwest we are surrounded by moss, but rarely take time to examine the variety of textures, colours and forms found in this living carpet. Admittedly it’s a bit late for mushrooms, but we may get lucky, and we’ll have fun trying. Long range forecast predicts a dry day, but we’ll go even if it rains.
Meet at 9:30am in the North West corner of Park Royal North parkade for carpooling, or phone Teresa 604-437-4453 to share from Vancouver. Bus 253 leaves Park Royal 9:22, stops at Woodgreen Place 9:48. You can also meet us at 10am in the parking lot.
