Hike to Yew Lake / Bowen Lookout, Cypress Provincial Park
Hike to Yew Lake / Bowen Lookout, Cypress Provincial Park
This is a joint hike with Friends of Cypress Provincial Park. Join Lyn Grants and Janet Snell for a 3-hour hike in Cypress Provincial Park from Yew Lake to Bowen Lookout. For those who have not undertaken this hike in early spring – The creeks through Yew Lake area will be starting to surge, cutting channels through the snowbanks; early evidence of spring will be visible on the deciduous trees and plants. The trails will be doable in spikes, and if we have a fine day the views from the Lookout are spectacular. 4.3k return, 110m elevation gain, moderate terrain. Start time 10:00 am
Nature Vancouver rating C3. There will still be snow on the trails. Hiking boots/poles/spikes recommended.
Lyn Grants is an integral and active member of Friends of Cypress Provincial Park (https://cypresspark.ca) which liaises with Park staff in monitoring and maintaining trails as well as proposing improvements.
