Ferry: We will meet on the ferry

Ferry over:  Tsawwassen to Galiano Island (Sturdies Bay), 8:55 am to 9:55 am

Ferry back:  Galiano Island (Sturdies Bay), 4:50 pm to 5:50 pm

Food and drink available on the ferry Need to reserve, even for walk-ons, 1-888-223-3779

At both ferry terminals need to exchange reservation information for boarding pass.

Need to leave enough time to get from parking lot ($19 short term; $14 long term; $11 shuttle) to ticket booth and ferry loading.

Hike: 16 km. Elevation gain:  550 m. Time:  5 ½ hours. Mostly shaded hike under forest canopy except for rest stops and viewpoints; some stinging nettles alongside trail; watch for ticks

Points of interest and rest stops:

Snack break at the Bluffs with view of Active Pass.

Japanese kiln restoration and information boards. Kilns in operation from 1901 to 1942 to make charcoal for industrial and domestic use.

 Galiano cemetery.

Lunch at the top of Mt. Galiano overlooking Trincomali Channel and various Islands in the Salish Sea.

Galiano Oceanfront Inn and Spa serves beer and is located near ferry terminal, down Madrona Drive
