🌿Hayward Lake Hike 2019

When

16/Nov/2019
8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Event Type

Hayward Lake Hike

We’ll meet at 8am at Penticton & Franklin.
Trip goes rain or shine, but if it is wet we’ll make it a shorter hike.
The Ruskin Dam to Harsine Inlet bridge trail section are both closed, so instead of a round trip this will be a 10-15km ‘there and back again’ hike along the east side of Hayward Lake. We’ll enjoy rolling terrain in a beautiful mixed conifer forest with a variety of birds, waterfalls, bridges over mossy creeks and some lake views in addition to lichens, mosses and some late mushrooms. The trails are generally well maintained, but expect some steeper sections and wet or muddy areas. Dress for fall weather including good boots or hiking shoes, and pack lunch and fluids.

Hayward Lake is located east of Maple Ridge and north of Mission near Stave Lake. Continue straight along Lougheed Hwy into Maple Ridge and turn left at the major intersection onto Dewdney Trunk Road. Drive approximately 20km , cross the Stave Lake Reservoir on the Blind Slough Dam to the parking lot on the east side of the lakes. Van Trails Est. Driving Time from Vancouver: 1h 20m (Google says 1h)

Pre-register with trip leaders Teresa Gagné & Denis Laplante <email: d_t_01 (at) shaw (dot) ca> home: 604-437-4453.
