Coastal water birds at White Rock Pier
Coastal water birds at White Rock Pier. Meet the leader Thomas Plath (778 928-9206; tomplath@telus.net) at the base of the White Rock Pier at 0830 AM. This is an excellent location to observe many “sea ducks”, loons and grebes at close range. We will search for Eared Grebe, Brandt’s Cormorant, Long-tailed Duck and Black Scoter amongst the numerous coastal water birds. Weather permitting, we will visit Blackie Spit afterwards in search of shorebirds. This is a half day trip. Bring binoculars, a scope if you have one, snacks and warm clothing.
