Birding and Photography Journey along Yukon’s Dempster and Alaska’s Dalton and Denali Highways.

Speaker: Istvan Orsi

Istvan revisited the Dalton and Denali Highways in addition to taking a short trip to Tombstone Territorial Park along the Dempster Hwy.

Each of these northerly locations has unique wildlife. Many of the northerly birds and small mammals are facing new threat s due to climate change and predator distribution shift.

During the presentation some of the rarely seen birds will be featured in breeding plumage, like wandering tattler, bar-tailed godwit, stilt sandpiper, phalaropes, both spectacled and king eider ducks, northern wheatear, bluethroat, eastern yellow wagtail, together with rock & willow ptarmigans, redpolls, snow bunting, Lapland and Smith longspurs, etc.

Beside birds, mammals like cariboo, musk oxen, etc. also will be shown.

Many of the animals and birds were filmed, as well, providing a unique insight into there daily activities.
