🌿Hayward Lake Fall Botany & Mushrooms – Reservoir Trail (difficulty rating B6.5)

Enjoy rolling terrain in a beautiful mixed conifer forest with birdsong, waterfalls, bridges over mossy creeks and some lake views. The floating bridge across Hairsine Inlet is still closed, so instead of a circuit, this trip this will be a leisurely 16km ‘there and back again’ hike along the east side of Hayward Lake. The trail is generally well maintained with some steeper sections and about 300m elevation gain. The early start should leave us time to hike at a moderate place with stops for mushrooming along the way.  If the weather is very wet we will do a shortened hike and visit the Stave Falls Powerhouse Museum ($7 admission).  Area information bchydro.com/…/hayward_lake
Trip goes rain or shine. Dress for the weather including good boots or hiking shoes, and pack lunch and fluids.
