🌿Botanical Illustration in Watercolour 
an Introduction to its History and Techniques – Lesley Bohm

Botanical artist and NV member Lesley Bohm will share with us some of the processes involved in creating different kinds of botanical art. From field sketches to technical drawings, scenic overviews to cellular details, her talk will be richly illustrated with both examples of her own work, and historical botanical paintings in different styles.

Lesley has an honours B.SC in botany from McGill, plus 20 years of botanical lab. experience, creating botanical illustrations for periodicals, books and the U.B.C. Botanical Garden magazine Davidsonia.  Since 1986 she has been a freelance botanical artist and landscape painter.  She is a longtime member of Artists in Our Midst, the North Shore Hikers and the Alpine Club of Canada.

Tea and cookies will be served from 7 to 7:30 pm. There will be opportunity for plant identification.
