Bird Walk at Everett Crowley Park – Saturday, November 15
American Goldfinch
Join trip leaders Sarah-Jane McAuley and Neill Vanhinsberg for a morning walk around this wooded park. We will do a circuit of the park, checking the duck pond, wooded areas and more open stretches for wintering birds. We can expect to find lots of sparrows and finches, a chickadee flock and perhaps a raptor or two, as well as other winter residents.
The walk will start at 9 AM and should last approximately 2½-3 hours. This is an easy walk on mostly level ground with trails that are either gravel or hard packed, though some spots can be mucky if it has rained recently. There will be a limited number of binoculars to lend out if you don’t have a pair.
Pre-registration is required and the walk is limited to 15 participants. Email Neill Vanhinsberg to register: nvanhinsberg@gmail.com Nature Vancouver members will be given priority but this walk is open to all. We will be meeting at the north entrance to the park and precise directions will be sent with confirmation of registration.
