Join Stephen Hui (author of Destination Hikes and a Nature Vancouver member) for a hike to Kennedy Falls from the Mount Fromme parking lot on Sunday, April 16. This hike traverses the lush forest on the west side of Lynn Creek to an old-growth giant and a waterfall. This longer hike is rated as B5 (moderately strenuous, 5 hours) and is 10 km long with 140 m of net elevation gain. There is rough footing in places with slippery roots and rocks as well as several stream crossings. There will be some snow, which could make the hike longer. Good waterproof footwear is essential, as is rain gear and warm layers. Hiking poles are recommended. Micro spikes (traction aids) are recommended. Note that this hike is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if weather and trail conditions are poor. Pre-registration is required: stephen.hui@naturevancouver.ca
