False Creek Bioblitz 2022 and Beyond
 
Have you ever wondered what lies beneath the waters of False Creek? What does it look like through the eyes of a crab? Zaida Schneider and Kira Leeb from the False Creek Friends Society, will present present the exciting research being done in False Creek to determine the impact of years of chemical and biological contamination upon the organisms that populate the “Creek”. This research is being conducted with the help of  research scientists from Hakai Institute, UBC, the Beaty Museum and many citizen scientists, who are helping to explore the waters of False Creek and restore its marine environment. 
 
This presentation will be a Hybrid of In-person and Zoom Video Conferencing. The in-person location will be as in past years the Unitarian Centre (Hewett Hall) at 949 West 49th Ave, corner of Oak Street, in Vancouver. In-person attendees will be encouraged  to wear masks and are expected to be vaccinated. In person audience will be limited to 40 attendees. Please RSVP to caroline@naturevancouver.ca
 
Zoom link: On the Monday preceding the event, Nature Vancouver members will receive the Zoom link in the weekly e-News.  The talk will begin at 7:30 pm feel free to join us at 7:15 pm to socialize. Non-members are welcome and should Email denis@NatureVancouver.ca a few days ahead to register for the link.
