Birding at Point Roberts, Washington
Birding at Point Roberts, Washington
Join Janet Snell and Jan Lowcock for a 3-hour bird walk in Point Roberts, Washington. We will visit Lighthouse Park and the Point Roberts Marina Jetty and if there is time, Lily Point. The border crossing regulations are much easier now and this is a good time to see Fall migrants and overwintering birds. We are likely to see grebes, loons, mergansers, some shorebirds, seabirds, sea ducks, many gull species, as well as brant and snow geese to name a few. As well there are many sparrow species and songbirds in the inland portion of Lighthouse Park.
Wear sturdy shoes for trail and beach walks as and dress for inclement weather. Bring binoculars and if you have one, a spotting scope.
Participants are responsible for meeting cross-border regulations. You must bring your passport or Nexus card.
Pre-registration is required, and the trip is limited to 12 participants. Contact Janet Snell at janet@naturevancouver.ca to register for the trip and meet-up location. Priority will be given to Nature Vancouver members. Please read our covid statement at: https://naturevancouver.ca/field-trips/
