Birding at Maplewood Flats Conservation Area – North Vancouver

Leona Axbey and Maureen Collier will co-lead a birding walk at Maplewood Flats. The walk will start at 9 AM and will likely last 2 to 3 hours, with a possibility of lunch or a snack together after. This is an easy walk on a 4 km. loop that takes us by Burrard Inlet and through some forested areas. The walk itself can be completed in less than an hour, but keen birders will find it easy to spend a couple of happy hours here.

Various waterbirds and songbirds have been reported here recently, including; Northern Pintails, Green-winged Teal, Bewick’s Wren, Purple Finch, and Yellow-rumped warbler. Check out the latest on ebird:  https://ebird.org/canada/hotspot/L164543?m=10&yr=cur

Pre-registration is required and the trip is limited to12 participants, including the trip co-leaders. Email Leona Axbey by October 20 to register: rovintiger@gmail.com. Priority will be given to Nature Vancouver members. Carpooling is at the discretion of drivers and passengers.
