Pacific Spirit Park Interpretive Walk – FULL
Pacific Spirit Park Interpretive Walk
Ian Clague will lead an interpretive walk through the northeastern portion of Pacific Spirit Park for those who are not already familiar with all it has to offer. Ian volunteers regularly on restoration projects in the Park, has lived nearby for 40 years, and enjoys regular walking and biking the extensive trails network.
Pacific Spirit is a large Metro park approximately twice as large as Stanley Park. This walk will include areas such as Camosun Bog, extensive second growth coniferous forest (with some evidence remaining of the original old growth), beaver activities, deciduous forest, and several restored areas replanted with native shrubs and trees (after extensive invasive plants have been removed).
The trails are maintained, often surfaced with gravel, and any elevation gain or loss is minimal for most of the trails. The walk will be 3-4 hours in length and cover approximately 6-8 kms.
All participants are required to be fully vaccinated will be required. The trip leader may ask for proof of vaccination. Participation is limited to 10 NV members. If the trip fills up quickly, we’ll consider running it more than once.
