10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Event Type

Come and help out at New Brighton with our 18th work party this coming Saturday, June 7th with the Nature Vancouver led biodiversity enhancement project.  The work party starts at 10 am, going to 12 Noon and will continue to focus on pulling vetch, white-sweet clover, scotch broom, digging out thistle and clipping blackberry. The work is enjoyable, as vigorous as you want, and is making a huge improvement in the biodiversity of one of Vancouver’s northeastern parks. Additionally you will have the pleasure of working with wonderful other volunteers.

You will also get to see some of the 2000+ gorgeous flowers provided by the Vancouver Park Board that we’ve planted at New Brighton. For the last month and a bit we have been treated to some of the native perennial flowers including Great Camas, Western Columbines, Large Leaved & Broad Leaved Lupines, Flaxes, Goatsbeard, and oodles of Woolly Sunflowers.
