Birds and Flowers Walk along Yew Lake Trail

Birds and Flowers Walk along Yew Lake Trail

When

01/Jun/2025
7:00 am - 10:00 am

Event Type

Join leaders Angela Hansen and Neill Vanhinsberg, for the first of a series of walks is to observe seasonal changes in the sub-alpine ecosystem over the spring and summer in the birds, wildflowers, and butterflies. We should see lots of bird activity in early June as spring is peak, with flowers in bloom, and birds actively breeding. We don’t expect the butterflies will be active yet. We will walk the Yew Lake Trail Loop, and back to the lodge. There is no change in elevation on this walk.

Dress for cool conditions, there might still be patches of snow on the ground on the trail, so wear appropriate footwear for slippery conditions, hiking poles may be helpful, and bring binoculars, or course. A conditions update will be emailed to participants a few days before the walk with amount of snow to expect.

Pre-register to attend this walk by emailing Angela: angelamklhansen@gmail.com. Limit 10 participants. Parking, meeting place, bathrooms info, and a current conditions update will be emailed to participants a few days before the walk.
