Description
Nature Vancouver (formally Vancouver Nature History Society) is a not-for-profit society registered under the BC Societies Act and a registered charity with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). You can find the Society’s registration number and financial information on CRA’s website. Donations to the Society are eligible for a charitable tax credit. Donation receipts will be issued for donations of $20 or more in cash or listed securities.
To donate by mail, please send a cheque or money order, payable to “Vancouver Natural History Society” to: The Treasurer, Nature Vancouver, Post Office Box 3021-Station Terminal, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada V6B 3X5.
You can donate electronically using PayPal. You do not need a PayPal account to do so. At checkout, please tell us how to allocate your donation among the funds mentioned below. You can do so by entering your preference for a fund in the box under “Additional Information”. If you do not enter your preference, your donation will go to the General Operations Fund.
You can also donate via PayPal Giving Fund. The advantage of doing so is that PayPal does not charge fees for donations made via the PayPal Giving Fund and they will immediately email you a charitable receipt. Conservation Fund
The Conservation Fund was established in 2001 to hold funds raised or donated for specific conservation projects or to support conservation initiatives in general.
Endowment Fund (includes Nature Vancouver Scholarships)
The Endowment Fund was established in 1998 to be a source of revenue for the Society which will supplement membership dues and which will grow over time. Up to 75 percent of the annual earnings of the fund can be used for the operations of the Society. There are no conditions on the expenditure of these funds.
