World Migratory Bird Day

Seven Birding Walks on behalf of the City of Vancouver

Red-winged Blackbird

JERICHO PARK. Start location, west entrance, NW Marine Drive at Discovery Street. 9:00 AM. Duration 1.5 hours. Free parking and washrooms available. Dress for the weather. Interested and new birders welcome. Leader – Adrian Grant Duff.

PACIFIC SPIRIT PARK. Meet in parking lot on the north side of 16th Avenue west of Blanca Street, where the washrooms and buildings are. 9:00 AM start. Duration 2 hours. Leader – Neill Vanhinsberg.

MUSQUEAM AREA. Start location Crown Park (SW Marine Drive and 41st Avenue). 9:00 AM. Half-day. Trails to Fraser River and back. Leader – Annie Maki.

EVERETT CROWLEY PARK. Meet at main entrance off Kerr Street at 8:00 AM. Duration 2 hours. Free parking and washroom. Look for Spring migrants. Leader – Bill Kinkaid.

TROUT LAKE. Meet in Trout Lake Community Centre parking lot at 8:00 AM. Washrooms. Look for Spring migrants. Leader – Istvan Orosi.

THE SANCTUARY, P.N.E. Meet at west side of ponds at 7:30 AM or 9:30 AM. Washrooms. Free parking, tell attendant you are going to Sanctuary. Good place to find Warblers. Leader – Doug Cooper.

QUEEN ELIZABETH PARK. Meet in front of the Bloedel Conservatory at 8:00 AM. Duration 4 hours. Look for Spring migrants. Washrooms and free parking available. All interested participants welcome. Leader – Colin Clasen.
