Why Christmas Bird Counts Are So Important

The Christmas Bird Count is the oldest and longest running Citizen Science Project in the Western Hemisphere – this is its 121st year! We’ll discuss many aspects of the CBC, from history, to how it works, to what we’ve learned and why it’s important to continue the tradition. And the effect of this year’s COVID restrictions will also be discussed.

Presenter Yousif Attia, is a Citizen Science Coordinator at Birds Canada who helps manage the CBC and eBird in Canada.

This will be an online presentation via Zoom Video Conferencing. On the Monday, preceding the event, Nature Vancouver members will receive the Zoom link in the weekly e-News. To join the talk on Thursday, click on that link after 7:15 pm. The talk will begin at 7:30 pm.

Non-members are welcome and should Email denis@NatureVancouver.ca well in advance to register for the link.
