East Meets West – Restoration in Jericho & New Brighton Parks
Nature Vancouver has long been associated with restoration projects going back to its inception back in 1918. The first restoration project at the start of the Vancouver Natural History Society (NV) was “Arbor-day” talks to promote the planting of trees on clearcut Vancouver streets which led to our tree-lined streets of today.
There has been a variety of restoration efforts both in Vancouver and beyond since then. In this presentation, the focus will be on two local projects that were initiated by Nature Vancouver. Susan Fisher, President of the Jericho Stewardship Group will describe the Jericho Park restoration project while Nigel Peck will describe the first year of the Nature Vancouver newest sponsored restoration project at New Brighton Park.
It’s a topic to help restore your faith that individuals working together are making a difference in their communities and for the environment.
This presentation will be via Zoom Video Conferencing. On the Monday preceding the event, Nature Vancouver members will receive the Zoom link in the weekly e-News. The talk will begin at 7:30 pm. Non-members are welcome and should Email denis@NatureVancouver.ca a few days ahead to register for the link.
