Stein Valley Weekend
Easter weekend backpacking trip to the Stein Valley near Lytton. We’ll hike in to the Teepee campsite on Friday for two nights and explore further up the valley on the day in between. The hike in is a moderately strenuous 8 kilometres on a good trail with minimal net elevation gain but one steep up and down section. http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/parkpgs/stein_val/
Each person is responsible for their own food and equipment though some sharing of equipment is possible. Carpooling will be arranged. Limit of ten participants. Contact Daphne Nagorsen email@example.com and Bill Kinkaid firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and to register – deadline is Sunday 7 April.
Note: this hike is accessed by crossing the Fraser River on the Lytton reaction ferry, which is subject to closure due to river conditions. If the ferry is not in operation, we’ll plan an alternative trip or day hike(s). Also note that while this is a relatively low elevation and normally dry trail which should be free of snow, no guarantee is made regarding trail and weather conditions. Prepare for all potential situations.
