SOUTH ARM WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA BIRD WALK, MARCH 1, 9:00AM
Lesser Scaup
Join Ly Hoang and Neill Vanhinsberg on a walk through Site 2 of the South Arm Wildlife Management Area. This section, and adjacent areas, supports the highest densities of waterbirds and shorebirds in Canada, and more waterfowl winter in this area than the rest of Canada combined. We will be exploring a small section of the over 900 hectares of this wildlife management area looking for waterfowl, raptors and other resident and wintering birds. Trails are mainly level and hard packed but some areas can be muddy.
You can check out recent sightings here https://ebird.org/hotspot/L993613/bird-list
Pre-registration is required and the walk is limited to 15 participants. Email Neill Vanhinsberg to register: nvanhinsberg@gmail.com We will have a small number of binoculars to loan so let us know if you would like to borrow a pair.
