ROCHE POINT FOREST FIELD TRIP
Title: Roche Point Forest, a selectively logged old-growth forest ecosystem recently dedicated as parkland.
Presenter: David Cook, Biologist.

Meeting times and location: 11:00 am at the cul de sac of Roche Point Drive South (north of Cates Park & Dollarton Highway). A map with directions will be supplied to those who register.
Approximate duration of event & walking distance: Approximately 2 or 3 hours & 2 km round trip.
Description of the events: David will walk you to the nearby Roche Point Forest an area of old-growth forest which has been dedicated as parkland. He will point out the old-growth Douglas-firs one of which held a Bald Eagles nest, the characteristics of an old-growth forest & describe the plant species we will see.
Trail conditions: The trail conditions will be a mix of easy and rough trails. To access the old-growth trees the trails are rough but not rocky. The tour is not recommended for people with mobility issues.
Be prepared: Bring a snack and water.
