Location:  New Brighton Park, 2980-2990 Commissioner Street, Vancouver

The Sunday, June 21st New Brighton work party from 8:45 am – 11:30 (which now includes sign in plus tea & treat time at end) will focus on pulling Purple Vetch and Morning Glory (bindweed) on the west side of New Brighton Park & the Port strip next to the park.  Vetch and bindweed are a particular problem winding around planted native plants and essentially strangling them.

The New Brighton Biodiversity Enhancement’s project’s goal is to remove invasive monoculture plant species and replace them with a variety of native perennial herbaceous flowers and shrubs to promote greater biodiversity of insects, other pollinators, birds and animal life.
