Join us on our next Nature Sketchbook outing at Musqueam Park! 

All are welcome to this casual get-together to nature journal and explore Musqueam park. Sketchbook journaling is a great way to unwind, collect wildlife sightings and explore your creative side. No previous art experience needed. Just bring a pencil or pen and a notebook, sketchbook or journal. 

Musqueam Park is a 24-hectare park west of Southlands in Vancouver. A major portion of the park is covered with a second growth forest of red cedar, Western hemlock, alder, cottonwood, and maple forest. More than 30 species of birds have been seen here as well as a variety of animals. Trails and a bridle path weave through the forest and provide lots of opportunity to see birds and other urban wildlife. Musqueam Creek, one of the last salmon-spawning creeks in Vancouver, passes through this Park on its way to the Fraser River. A wildlife corridor also runs through the park from Pacific Spirit Regional Park to the Fraser River dyke.

We will start as a group for a short walk about the park to get familiar with its layout, split up to sketch whatever catches our eyes and curiosity, and then reconvene to share interesting things we have discovered. Author, illustrator Vicky Earle will lead the group and be on hand to answer questions.
