MARCH 29TH NEW BRIGHTON PARK WORK PARTY NOTICE
The Sunday, March 29th New Brighton work party from 11:45 am – 2:30 pm (which now includes sign in plus tea and treat time at end) will focus on some selective blackberry clipping, pulling out Scotch Broom shoots, digging up Bull Thistle and who knows what else during hopefully a bit of a break from these torrential atmospheric river rains.
The New Brighton Biodiversity Enhancement’s project’s goal is to remove invasive monoculture plant species and replace them with a variety of native perennial herbaceous flowers and shrubs to promote greater biodiversity of insects, other pollinators, birds and animal life.
For more information on the project or to RSVP please email newbrighton@naturevancouver.ca. Your RSVP (ideally by the day before the actual work party) helps us to plan the provision of adequate gloves, tools and treats to share at the end of each 2 hour work party.
