Tom Plath is well known among most of us for travelling the world, leading wildlife trips through his company Satipo Tours. He brings back to us amazing photos and entertaining stories to share in his presentations.
But did you know that you don’t need to travel far, or have tonnes of experience, to enjoy the popular hobby (or some would say, way of life) of birdwatching? Vancouver and the Lower Mainland has so much to offer in terms of fantastic and varied birding habitat. And the good news is, anyone can become a birder!
Come join us on May 6 when Tom will present an “Introduction to Birdwatching” and learn all the basics. Why birdwatching? Where are the best places to go? Who can be a birder? When are the best times to do it? How do I get started? Feel free to bring your questions! Get yourself ready for Vancouver Bird Celebration Week (May 8 to 16). At a time when we must all do our part and stay close to home, find out how to maximize your birding in our local area.
This presentation will be aired via Zoom Video Conferencing. On the Monday preceding the event, Nature Vancouver members will receive the Zoom link in the weekly e-News. To join the talk on Thursday, click on that link after 7:15 pm. The talk will begin at 7:30 pm. Non-members are welcome and should Email laura@NatureVancouver.ca well in advance to register for the link.
