Identifying Trees in June at Kitsilano Park and Kitsilano Beach Park
Nina Shoroplova (author of Legacy of Trees: Purposeful Wandering in Vancouver’s Stanley Park) will lead a walk, identifying the evergreen and deciduous trees growing in these connecting parks. An easy walk. The terrain is flat and includes grass, mud, gravel, and sand. The route will be similar to the walk in February, while also taking in other trees.
Some free parking is available on Cornwall Avenue. Bus No 2 Downtown (in the other direction, it is No 2 MacDonald) goes along Cornwall Avenue, beside Kitsilano Park and Kitsilano Beach Park. If you plan to use the beach parking lot, make sure you allow enough time to walk to the meeting point.
Meet at 10:30 am at the corner of Kits Beach Park where Cornwall Avenue and Balsam Street meet. Walk will go rain or shine. Pre-register at caroline@naturevancouver.ca.
