Identifying Trees at English Bay (NOW FULL)
Join Nina Shoroplova and Caroline Penn on a walk among ornamental and native trees at English Bay on Saturday, March 22, from 10 a.m. until around noon. At 9:45 a.m., meet at the red oak tree in Alexandra Park, near where Beach Avenue and Bidwell Street connect. Arriving at 9:45 a.m. gives us time to sign Nature Vancouver’s forms before the walk begins at 10 a.m.
The native and ornamental trees include a Persian ironwood and European ash that might still be in bloom; these are wind-pollinated trees. We will take in one of Vancouver’s Heritage Trees, some landmarks, and a little history.
Please register with NinaShoroplova @ gmail dot com. The walk is limited to 25 people. Registrants will be provided with a list of some of the trees we’ll see. This walk is now full with 25 participants registered.
