Field Trip Leaders Workshop
For new, potential and experienced trip leaders
Saturday March 14, 2020 at Van Dusen Gardens, 9:30 am – 3:00 pm
Share your enthusiasm for nature and become a Nature Vancouver field trip leader! Knowledge of local natural history is not required to lead field trips. We invite everyone to join us and learn about leading our field trips.
At the workshop we will cover:
- Trip planning and preparation
- Managing a group
- Trail etiquette and safety
- Nature Vancouver field trip guidelines, policies and formalities
- Tips and advice from past and current trip leaders
- And more!
A short demonstration walk will be held in the gardens after the presentations.
To register: contact Bill Kinkaid at email@example.com by Sunday 1 March.
This is a free workshop and admission to the gardens is included.
First aid training for field trip and camp leaders will be offered on another weekend. Contact Bill if you are interested in taking part.
“As long as I live, I’ll hear waterfalls and birds and winds sing. I’ll interpret the rocks, learn the language of flood, storm, and the avalanche. I’ll acquaint myself with the glaciers and wild gardens, and get as near the heart of the world as I can.” John Muir
