SUMMARY:FEMALE BIRD DAY WALK AT IONA BEACH - SATURDAY MAY 23\, 8AM
DESCRIPTION:Join leaders Ly Hoang\, Sarah-Jane McAuley and Neill Vanhinsber
 g for a bird walk to celebrate Female Bird Day. This celebration was start
 ed in 2020 by the Galbatross Project to spotlight female birds. Avian rese
 arch in North America has often focused mainly on male birds. More recent 
 research has shown that many female birds not only sing but have behaviour
 s that are quite different from their male counterparts.\n\nThe walk will 
 concentrate on finding female birds and learning about them in particular\
 , especially their appearance and behavior.\n\nAll birders are welcome fro
 m beginner to expert\, as well as anyone interested in birds!  The trails
  are mostly flat but some can be a bit mucky. This walk will be about 2-3
