– City Nature Challenge 2025 – Rocky Point, Port Moody with Metis Nation British Columbia
Nature Vancouver will be joining a walk hosted and led by Metis Nation British Columbia (MNBC) for the ninth annual City Nature Challenge, which is an international bioblitz-style competition where cities are in a friendly contest with each other to see who can make the most observations of nature, find the most species, and engage the most amount of people into getting out and enjoying nature.
This walk is for April 26th at Rocky Point in Port Moody and will start at 10 AM.
This walk will be led and organized by MNBC, however additional questions can be forwarded by email at: john.martin@naturevancouver.ca.
We will be meeting to the left of the Rocky Point ice cream store here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/gdCMowCuTaKknU4v8
City Nature Challenge uses the iNaturalist platform, so attendees should have iNaturalist installed on their devices if they are using a phone. Participants can also use cameras of course, and observations can be added to iNaturalist later on the computer.
Please dress for the weather accordingly, pack snacks & water, and be prepared to walk on unpaved paths or dirt trails.
You can read more about the City Nature Challenge on the blog here.
