BIRDING WALK BOUNDARY BAY

BIRDING WALK BOUNDARY BAY

When

15/Feb/2026
2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Event Type

As part of the international Great Backyard Bird Count, trip leader Christine Balkwill will be hosting a birding walk on Boundary Bay Dyke (64th – 72nd street).  The dyke trail has a number of habitats where we can look and listen for a variety of birds – small birds in the brush and trees that line the paths, ducks in the pond, raptors in the sky, and gulls and shorebirds on the bay.  The trail is gravel and is entirely flat.  Our section is approximately 2 km and we will plan to walk the full length out and back but it is possible to buddy with someone to prepark a car at the far end and avoid the return walk.

To register or for questions, please email cbalkwill@shaw.ca.  This trip will be limited to 10 participants.  There are a limited number of binoculars available to borrow.  Please indicate in your email if you will be needing a pair.  You’ll receive meet details and other trip logistics when you register.  Thanks!
