Birding Section outdoor evening at Queen Elizabeth Park
This is Nature Vancouver’s last Birder’s Night before the summer break and will be held outdoors at picturesque Queen Elizabeth Park. We can expect a good variety of both spring migrants and resident species. Last year we saw nests of both Anna’s Hummingbirds and Bushtits and watched Black-capped Chickadees busy at their nest cavity. Many other species nest in the park including Cooper’s Hawks.
Meet leaders Adrian Grant Duff, Neill Vanhinsberg and Colin Clasen at 6:30 pm in the free parking lot at the south end of the park, next to the pitch-and-putt golf course. We will then bird around the park for 1 to 1½ hours, then meet at the Celebration Pavilion (plaza) area at the top, for social time and refreshments.
