Birding at Iona Beach Regional Park

Birding at Iona Beach Regional Park

When

28/Sep/2024
8:30 am - 11:30 am

Event Type

Join Neill Vanhinsberg and Jan Lowcock  for a fall morning birding trip to Iona Beach Regional Park in Richmond.  The tide will be well out, but we can scan the beach and mudflats, explore the outer ponds and river areas plus the wooded trails.  We’ll be on the lookout for shorebirds and will keep an eye out for resident birds plus those migrating south for the winter.

Please dress for the weather and be prepared for uneven trail conditions. Bring binoculars if you have them. We will have a spotting scope or two but feel free to bring yours along. New birders are especially welcome and a few pairs of binoculars will be available to borrow for the walk.

We will meet in the parking lot adjacent to the public washrooms at 8:30 am.

Please register for the walk by emailing Neill at neillist@gmail.com

If you need a ride or can offer a ride from the Templeton Canada Line Station, please let us know when you register. We can arrange car transport from there for up to 4 people.
