Event Type

Join John Chandler and Neill Vanhinsberg for a walk around the park checking duck ponds, wooded areas and gardens for spring migrants. The walk will start at 8 AM and last approximately 2-3 hours. This is an easy walk on mostly level ground with a few small hills. Trails are either paved or hard packed. If you have mobility issues, please let us know and we can cater the walk to your needs. There will be a limited number of binoculars to lend out if you don’t have a pair.

The emphasis will be on finding and identifying birds from a beginner’s perspective, then, observing their behaviour. Questions are encouraged! You can check out the latest sightings in the park on eBird here.

Pre-registration is required and the walk is limited to 15 participants.  Email Neill Vanhinsberg to register: nvanhinsberg@gmail.com  Washrooms are available on site. Nature Vancouver members will be given priority. Pay parking is available in the park but street parking is free. There are bus stops close to the park. Meet up location will be sent with confirmations.
