A Mexican Vacation with Birding – Veracruz and Oaxaca

A Mexican Vacation with Birding – Veracruz and Oaxaca

When

23/Mar/2023
7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Event Type

Guided birding trips are a great way to see lots of species in a short time.  But what if you have a bit more time, or if birding is an interest but not the main focus of your trip?

Harvey Dueck will share photos and stories from a six week trip to Mexico in November-December 2022.  Michelle Baudais and Harvey traveled by bus and collectivo (shared taxi) through the states of Veracruz and Oaxaca.  Along the way, they did some birding, visited archeological and cultural sites, and met some great people.

The talk will touch on how they found places to go birding, experiences finding local guides, and a little about the history and environment of the places they visited.

This presentation will take place online via Zoom.  On the Monday preceding the event, Nature Vancouver members will receive the Zoom link in the weekly e-News. This talk will begin at 7:30pm. Non-members are welcome and should Email denis@NatureVancouver.ca well in advance to register for the link.

NOTE: this talk replaces the April Birder’s Night presentation.  The April Birder’s Night was moved so Dr Briony Penn can give speak about Ian McTaggart Cowan.  Watch the website for details about the April 6th talk.
