Edward Struzik is a writer, educator, and fellow at Queen’s Institute for Energy and Environmental Policy at Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario. He has been writing about scientific and environmental issues for more than 30 years. Speaking this time about swamplands or peatlands, the subject of his last-but-one book, Swamplands: Tundra Beavers, Quaking Bogs and the Improbable World of Peat, he will explain that they are as globally significant as rainforests, and function as critical carbon sinks for addressing our climate crisis.
