Donation receipts will be issued for all online donations and for donations of $20 or more paid by cheque or e-transfer.

Donations can be directed to the following Nature Vancouver Funds:

General Fund

Donations to the General Fund offset increasing costs for managing the club’s operations and producing our annual journal Discovery.

Conservation Fund

The Conservation Fund was established in 2001 to raise funds to support Nature Vancouver’s conservation initiatives.  Current and past initiatives include:

  • Work parties at New Brighton Park for invasive plant removal and native species planting
  • Purchase of binocular lending backpacks
  • Organization of the Vancouver annual Christmas Bird Count
  • Support for the False Creek Oyster Survey, and
  • Submissions to government to advocate for the protection of natural spaces.

NatureKids Fund

NatureKids, legal name Young Naturalists’ Club of British Columbia Society, was founded by Nature Vancouver member Daphne Solecki.  Prior to incorporation as a separate society and registered charity, NatureKids was part of Nature Vancouver.

Donations to this Fund support the historical and continuing links between Nature Vancouver and NatureKids’ provincial organization and Metro Vancouver NatureKids clubs.

VNHS Endowment Fund (includes Education Fund)

The VNHS Endowment Fund is a long term investment established by the Society to support its operations and advance its strategic initiatives.  Donations to this Fund are permanent capital adjusted for inflation.  Only the investment income in excess of an annual inflation adjustment can be disbursed.  Disbursements from the Fund are subject to an annual maximum and must align with the purposes of the Society as set out in its Constitution.

In 2021 the Education Fund was merged with the Endowment Fund to reflect the Society’s priorities on education and enhance the resources available to fund scholarships.
