Dipper Quest

Dipper Quest has been postponed from Nov 28th to Sunday Dec 5th.  The Alouette River is very high and with the heavy rainfall forecast for Nov 27-28th, it seems prudent to postpone the trip for one week.

This half-day outing is our annual quest to find American Dippers in the Pitt Meadows/Maple Ridge area. After locating a Dipper or two we will spend the balance of the morning birding the Pitt Meadows/Maple Ridge area in search of raptors, waterfowl and other winter migrants.

Larry Cowan led this trip from 2006 to 2019 and never failed to find at least one dipper. The 2021 trip will be led by Harvey Dueck and Michelle Baudais; we hope to continue Larry’s record of success.

Nature Vancouver’s COVID-19 protocols limit field trips to 10 participants, including organizers. If the trip fills up quickly, we’ll consider running it more than once.
