Trip report by Leader: Thomas Plath  January 25, 2020, a break in the bad weather allowed for a decent outing at the White Rock pier. The eight of us made use of the gift shop overhang while it was raining to scope seabirds along the waterfront. Metro Vancouver has informed us that maintenance work at the Iona lagoons is anticipated to start on May 15th, so the lagoon access will be closed from May 15th to May 29th. This is weather dependent so the dates may change. The public access gates will be chained and locked, and there will be signs on the gates regarding the closure.
