When Roy Edgell started the Vancouver Natural History Society’s annual photography competition many decades ago, his overall plan was so sound that in the fifteen years since Roy retired from the competition there has been no reason to change any of his principles.
Roy’s primary objective from the beginning was that the competition would provide an interesting evening for members of the society.
With the enthusiastic support of Nature Vancouver’s photographers this principle continues to be fulfilled and the numbers for the 2022 competition tell the story. Thirty six photographers entered two hundred and seventy three photographs and most telling of all – seventy three Nature Vancouver members attended the presentation on March 24, 2022, a very high turnout for a Nature Vancouver Zoom meeting.
Thanks to Roy’s vision and the participation of so many Nature Vancouver members we all continue to enjoy great photography and, indeed, a very interesting evening.
